Uh-oh, This News Fills Me With Dredd…

Karl Urban as Judge Dredd

Although production has wrapped on the upcoming movie based on Mega-City One’s most notorious scowling lawman, Judge Dredd, the L.A. Times is reporting that the upcoming flick is experiencing some post-production woes. It seems that the producers and director Pete Travis are having problems seeing eye to eye on the footage and the film’s writer/producer, Alex Garland (28 Weeks Later), has taken over the editing duties. So extensive are the changes and possibly necessary reshoots that Garland may seek to obtain co-directing credit on Dredd.

However, a later statement issued by Travis and Garland disputes these claims. They insist that the new arrangement has always been part of the plan and that the two continue to work together on the film. Whether or not this is true, or publicity whitewashing, remains to be seen, but many agree it is an unusual tactic that may indicate trouble in paradise.
