The Wall Street Journal blog, Speakeasy, reports that after months of speculation, director Ridley Scott has confirmed taking the helm on the new sequel to his science fiction masterpiece Blade Runner. With Prometheus in the can, he is close to deciding on a writer to pen the much-anticipated return to L.A. 2019 (which is just over seven years away!)
It is a good sign that Scott will be overseeing the production instead of just producing it, however, fans of the original may be disappointed to learn that none of the original cast will return.
