Walt Disney Home Entertainment today reaffirmed its commitment to Blu-ray 3D by announcing release dates for a slew of titles that were already expected to appear on the format before the end of the year. The titles announced today are Bolt 3D, Meet the Robinsons 3D, Chicken Little 3D and G-Force 3D.
Disney is already the market leader for 3D on Blu-ray and this announcement shows that the company has confidence in consumer interest. All four titles are slated for release on November 8th in time for Christmas. Each title will be part of a Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack, which typically includes a Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy.
“In early January, Disney announced an aggressive plan to bring a wide variety of 3D content to consumers’ in-home experiences,” Lori MacPherson, Disney’s Executive Vice President of Global Product Management said in a press release. “These latest Disney Blu-ray 3D releases all deliver the most superior in-home 3D viewing capabilities, and by offering the films in Combo Packs, we are continuing to provide families with exceptional value, quality, and versatility in a single purchase.”
The release of these titles is in addition to other Disney 3D Blu-ray’s already scheduled for later this year, including Mars Needs Moms (August 9), Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (August 30), The Lion King: Diamond Edition and Beauty and the Beast (both October 4) and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (October 18). Disney has already released Gnomeo & Juliet, TRON: Legacy, Tangled, Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, Step Up 3D and A Christmas Carol on Blu-ray 3D.
