Superstar comic book writer Grant Morrison has signed on with ICM, joining the ranks of high-profile comics creators who have made deals for representation. The agency’s client list already includes "Spawn" creator Todd McFarlane and comic book icon Neal Adams. The news, which The Hollywood Reporter broke, represents a potential coup for ICM, which has been increasingly interested in signing the most well-known names in comics.
During the last decade, the Scottish-born Morrison has been one of the most popular and influential figures in the business, having worked at Marvel and DC on properties such as "X-Men," "Justice League of America", and "Batman". In addition to writing comics, Morrison currently acts as a consultant for Warner Bros., writing treatments for films based on DC properties. He recently relocated from Scotland to Los Angeles for this position.
Morrison’s series "All-Star Superman", which he collaborated on with Frank Quitely, earned multiple Eisner Awards during its three-year run. More recently, he wrote the death of Batman storyline "R.I.P.", as well as "Final Crisis", a mini-series that established a new status quo in the DC Universe.
Morrison presently writes the bestselling "Batman and Robin", which chronicles the adventures of the new Batman. His graphic novel "Batman: Arkham Asylum", meanwhile, was the inspiration behind the best-selling video game from Eidos.
