Exclusive: 'V' for Vancouver

The Visitors set to arrive in Hollywood North
By Robert Falconer | Monday, February 9, 2009
CinemaSpy has learned from our sources that ABC's pilot for the reworked version of the '80s sci-fi classic V — about which we first reported here — will film in Vancouver beginning in March.
The pilot will shoot for 16 days, and focus on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with a wayward son, who, much to the chagrin of his mother, becomes involved with the aliens.
The Visitors arrival is preceded by a series of "inexplicable" seismic events, which turn out to be the effects of the Visitors' spacecraft.
True to the form of the classic '80s NBC miniseries, this re-imagined version of V will feature a leader/spokesperson — this time named Anna — who appears on big screens all over the world and seems to speak in the native tongue of whichever nation her visage appears.
She preaches friendship, technology exchange and "peace in our time" in return for some of Earth's water.
Set up for SCI FI Channel, V was penned by 4400 writer/producer Scott Peters, who is also exec producing the V pilot with HDFilms principal Jason Hall.
'V: The Series' will begin as a re-imagined pilot for SCI FI Channel.
