Canadian-born actress Elisha Cuthbert, perhaps best known for playing Kim Bauer on FOX's 24, has joined ABC's The Forgotten cast in a recurring role, which begins in February of next year.

Cuthbert will play Maxine Denver, a strong and successful Chicago professional who is forced to put her skepticism of "amateur detectives" aside when The Forgotten Network begins investigating a case close to home.

If you haven't seen it, the series focuses on a team of dedicated amateurs The Forgotten Network who work on murder cases involving unidentified victims. After the police have given up, this group, led by Alex Donovan (Christian Slater), must first solve the puzzle of the victim's identity in order to then help catch the killer. These are citizen volunteers solving extraordinary crimes. Their persistence and compassion for the cases put them on a personal and emotional journey that focuses on giving names back to the deceased.

Also starring in The Forgotten are Michelle Borth as Candace Butler, Heather Stephens as Lindsey Drake, Bob Stephenson as Walter Bailey, Anthony Carrigan as Tyler Davies and Rochelle Aytes as Grace Russell.

Mark Friedman is creator/executive producer of the series, with Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Danny Cannon on board as executive producers.
