Canadian broadcasters last week announced fall pickups and schedules. Most additions to the schedules are series produced in the U.S. that will be licensed and mostly simulcast. Here’s how things break down.

Citytv

Citytv, owned and operated by Rogers Media, holds onto 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation andChuck, all of which broadcast on NBC in the U.S., and Ugly Betty, which airs on ABC in the U.S.

New series to Citytv include the half-hour comedies Accidentally on Purpose, Community and Modern Family, which will simulcast with CBS, NBC and Fox respectively.

Hour long series new to Citytv - and simulcasting with the U.S. broadcast times - are Cougar Town (ABC), Parenthood (NBC, pictured at left) and Trauma (NBC).

How I Met Your Mother, which airs on CBS in the U.S. and had been broadcast by Canwest’s E!, has moved to Citytv.

Chuck and Scrubs (ABC) will be back mid-season, and will be joined by ABC’s Better Off Ted and NBC’s Mercy.

CTV, A

CTV Inc., which operates two national broadcasters in CTV and A, made fewer deals for U.S.-produced programs.

The lone new drama to CTV is The Vampire Diaries, which will be new to The CW in the U.S. this fall.

Sister net A grabs the half-hour comedies Hank and The Middle from ABC and the dramas Flash Forward (pictured at right) and Eastwick, both from ABC, and The Beautiful Life which airs on The CW in the U.S.

Among the scripted series returning to the CTV are: Cold Case, Flashpoint, The Mentalist, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, the three CSI procedurals, Desperate Housewives, Ghost Whisperer, Southland and Law & Order: SVU.

A is bringing back Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory, Fringe, Medium, Law & Order, Gossip Girl, Private Practice, Castle and Monk , among others.

Global

Meanwhile, Canwest Broadcasting, which runs Global Television and E!, will be bringing back the scripted series House, Lie to Me, NCIS, Bones, Dollhouse, Numb3rs, The Office, Heroes, Brothers & Sisters, 90210, Family Guy and The Simpsons.

New series to Global include Glee, The Good Wife (pictured at left), NCIS: Los Angeles, Melrose Place and the Family Guy spin off, The Cleveland Show.

Canwest has yet to announce the fall schedule for E!.
