ABC's 'V' Adds Cast

Including former '4400' alum Joel Gretsch

ABC's new V pilot — which began lensing here in Vancouver on Friday — is beginning to feel a little like a reunion of sorts. We already know that former 4400 creator/producer Scott Peters wrote and is exec producing the series pilot, but now comes word that Joel Gretsch has been added to the cast. Gretsch plays a Catholic priest who observes a rebirth of faith after the Visitors hit town.
Gretsch, of course, played agent Tom Baldwin on The 4400 (which also shot in Vancouver) and was most recently directed by Peters in the second season episode of Burn Notice, "Seek and Destroy".
Frankly, it sounds like an inspired bit of casting. Gretsch really showed his antagonistic chops playing Owen Crawford in Steven Spielberg's 2002 miniseries Taken, then flipped over to play the protagonist in The 4400, so it's easy to imagine him playing a conflicted priest juxtaposed against the momentous arrival of alien visitors.
Previously announced cast members for this reboot include Morena Baccarin, Scott Wolf and Morris Chestnut.
