Wes AndersonRecently, Wes Anderson offered some hints about his post-Fantastic Mr. Fox project, as well as his dream location for a movie shoot.

At the Hollywood premiere of Fantastic Mr. Fox, Anderson confirmed that his next film will be based on an original idea, unlike his latest, which was adapted from a Roald Dahl book.

"The next thing, I have an idea for something that’s just my own," he told Access Hollywood. "But I would like to do more adaptations. It’s nice to reach a point in the story and say, ‘What happens in the book?’ and you can just look in that and get your answer."

However, he confirmed that his next project would not be a science-fiction film, making it unlikely that Anderson would get to explore outer space, which he expressed an interest in doing. "I’d like to do a movie in space," Anderson said. "If possible I would like to try to actually shoot some of it on location in space. That’s my preference."

At this point, Anderson’s goal of writing another screenplay with Owen Wilson, with whom he collaborated on his first three movies, seems more plausible. "Yes," he said, after being asked if he would like to write more movies with Wilson. "Owen is not always available. He’s very busy being a full-fledged movie star."

So there you have it: Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox follow-up will be an original screenplay, not science-fiction, probably not in space. But maybe, just maybe it will feature rock music?
