Warner Bros Remains Indecisive About Superman
James McTeigue not waiting
By Robert Falconer | Tuesday, November 17, 2009
We know that James McTeigue would like to helm a new Superman movie, and he's been quite clear about his ideas for starting with a blank sheet. Unfortunately, Warner Bros has been quite clear that it has little if any intention of moving forward on a new Superman film anytime soon. In a new interview with MTV, McTeigue confirmed that the studio seems completely flummoxed about what to do next. "It's in a weird place at the moment," he said. "They're trying to work out what they're doing. Warner Brothers is trying to figure out their next move on it. There's some things you can do with the 'Superman' franchise, there's other things you can't do. So it hasn't gone anywhere."
Meanwhile, McTeigue isn't waiting around for Warner Bros. to figure it all out. "I think it's ripe for a retooling," he said. "I would love to—if it happened, I would at least start a conversation about it."
Meanwhile, McTeigue is moving on to his next project, which is The Raven, a fictionalized take on the last days of Edgar Allen Poe.
So just what should Warner Bros do with Superman? Tell us below what you would like to see in a new Superman film.
