'Superman Returns: The Extended Version'?
Here’s a fan site that wants to see it happen

Who doesn’t want to see a longer cut of Superman Returns, the 2006 attempted reboot of the comic book hero, which encountered kryptonite in the form of lukewarm ticket sales?Speaking for myself, I liked the movie quite a bit, and would welcome a version that includes previously-unreleased footage, even if much of it appears to be shots of Superman sitting inside a giant crystal.
You might be convinced The Bryan Singer Cut, named after the film’s director, is a good idea, too, if you visit www.supermanreturnsthebryansingercut.com. The makers of the site are trying to compile companies to ask for Warner Bros. to release the longer, special edition of Superman Returns, and ask all visitors to leave their signature.
On the site — and embedded below — you can check out a trailer featuring scenes that didn’t make it into the theatrical release, including:
- Kal-El/Superman inside what appears to be a crystalline structure, in a hibernated state.
- Lots of shots of the character wearing a grayish-white, insulated suit with the Superman 'S' insignia along the front.
- Scenes featuring Ma Kent and who appears to be Pa Kent. One assumes these are flashbacks.
- More footage of the Big 'S' saving innocent bystanders during the Metropolis earthquake sequence.
