Meanwhile, actor Edward James Olmos spoke to the LA Times about the project — with mostly glowing remarks — and compared the film to Blade Runner in terms of his level of personal enjoyment.

"I’ll put it to you this way—it’s quite a fun journey," Olmos told the Times. "It’s my first time doing this kind of a movie. Blade Runner is the only thing that comes close to this. I’m having a lot of fun. People are really going to like what we’ve done..."

"It took a while, but things are finally coming together,"
Olmos said, also revealing that he has one major stunt in which he gets zapped. "I think it’s going to be very exciting. People will find that it’s different than what they expect. Seth is doing a wonderful job. There’s a lot of everything. It’s going to be action-filled, and there’s a lot of humor in the situations. It’s really a well-crafted piece of work. Hopefully people will enjoy it and we’ll have a few of these films."

Asked if he recalled the original '60s William Dozier series which starred Van Williams and Bruce Lee, Olmos acknowledged that he remembered it.

"It was really kind of campy," he said. "I liked it. The Green Hornet was a very different kind of a hero—this character who becomes kind of a bad guy in order to get the bad guy. It was fun to watch that dynamic."

The Green Hornet
follows the adventures of Brit Reid (Rogen). A wealthy publisher of The Daily Sentinel by day, Reid roams as a masked crime fighter by night, dedicated to protecting the lives and rights of the city's citizens. Reid is accompanied by Kato (Jay Chou), a chauffeur/bodyguard/personal assistant during business hours who transforms into a masked sidekick with a knack for martial arts when the sun goes down.

Directed by Michel Gondry, the comic book adaptation is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 17, 2010.
