Prepare Thyself: 3.5 Minute 'Avatar' Trailer Arrives Friday!
But will it end the fan polarization?

For some, it's already a religious experience, for others, it's the dictionary definition of "overhype." Either way, James Cameron's forthcoming Avatar is certainly getting plenty of buzz online and around the water cooler. Some are hailing it as "the next big thing" in movies (well, Cameron certainly is), whilst others were insufficiently impressed by the teaser trailer, despite the remarkable advance in CG technology.

Our take? We expect the film will look magnificent, but that the story will be akin to Titanic: serviceable, but perhaps a bit conventional and predictable.

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox aren't taking any chances on letting the hype-machine die down, and according to ComingSoon.net on October 23 will debut a brand new trailer that's three-and-a-half minutes long! We have yet to learn in front of which film the new trailer will appear.

That's a long trailer!

It will then arrive online on October 29.

According to ComingSoon, this will be "the" trailer that fully represents Avatar in all its glory, and will show much more of the story than the teaser trailer of last August. So if this new trailer doesn't blow you away...then it's unlikely that the film will.

Directed by James Cameron, Avatar stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald.

The film arrives in conventional 3D theaters and IMAX 3D theaters on December 18.

I'm bored with this movie already. Too much hype. It looks pretty but the dialogue sucks and I reckon it is just going to be another shallow FX epic.

Yawwwwwn!
