Back in March, Tom Cruise revealed that a script for Mission: Impossible 4 was being written. Meanwhile, director J.J. Abrams tells TV Guide (via SpoilerTV) that he will be producing the fourth 'Mission: Impossible' film.

"I am incredibly honored that Tom [Cruise] has invited me back as a producer on 'Mission Impossible 4,'"
said Abrams. "Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing."

Even though Abrams directed the third installment, he has yet to reveal whether he plans on helming the fourth film.

The first film earned $457.7 million worldwide with a budget of $80 million, and the second took in $546.3 million with a $125 million budget. Finally, at a cost of $150 million, Mission Impossible 3 earned $397.8 million worldwide.

Profitable, wouldn't you say?
