Info About Another 'Star Wars' Movie Debunked, or Was It?
And does anybody really care anymore?

'Star Wars'. Basking in the past bastion of box office glory. To some, the quintessential space opera, to still others, a religion. But to almost everyone, one of the greatest milestones in cinema—when speaking of the original trilogy, that is. The last three films, though technically superb, lacked much of the magic that characterized the original motion picture triumvirate…and they certainly didn't win any praise for dialogue and story plotting. Many fans still loved them. The general public said, "meh." That said, 'Star Wars' is 'Star Wars'…and George Lucas seems destined to never leave it alone. Ever.

Case in point: while an occasional tidbit of information leaks out now and again about the forthcoming live-action television series, new talk has emerged in recent months that yet another feature film could be on the horizon like the twin moons of Tatooine. "What's that?," you say? Yes, that's right.

The latest scuttlebutt comes from Thomas Dolby, who co-authored George Lucas' "Howard the Duck" theme song. On his blog a few days ago, Dolby talked about visiting his friend and former collaborator Paul Sebastien in California, and said the following:

"My host is friend and former collaborator Paul Sebastien, who over the years has worked for Xbox, Playstation, and now LucasArts," Dolby said. "Last night he was telling me a little about the forthcoming Star Wars-related TV show, movie and online games—very cool indeed."

"I'm not a huge fan myself," he added, "but it sounds like Mr Lucas has got his head into a good place. I met him several times when I was working on a movie in the '80s called [name suppressed to protect credibility!] and he's a decent chap, but I could have done without the last three SW movies."

Now that sounds like he let something slip, doesn't it? Movie means movie, right? He clearly made a distinction between movie and TV show. Yet shortly thereafter, Dolby went back on his blog and corrected the statement, indicating that Sebastien WASN'T actually aware of a new movie, and simply meant the live action TV show.

"Paul is only working on the games side, and I know from past experience that he’s very professional and discrete, and would never leak confidential secrets, even to a close friend," Dolby recanted.

A misunderstanding? Or did Lucas send Imperial operatives to Dolby's house, who in turn threatened to toss Dolby into the maw of Sarlacc if he didn't cover up what he said?

We'll let you be the judge.
