If anything called War Machine is going to be built, doesn’t it seem natural that someone named Hammer should be involved?

Apparently, that is exactly the case in the much-anticipated Iron Man 2. MTV reports that Sam Rockwell, who plays Iron Man/Tony Stark’s rival Justin Hammer, recently commented on the nature of his character’s relationship with James "Rhodey" Rhodes, Stark’s friend and confidant.

Comic book fans know that Rhodes eventually dons the War Machine armor. However, they also know that Hammer has frequently clashed with Iron Man, and has tried to destroy Rhodes on numerous occasions, too.

"Don and I, we're working together," Rockwell said of the pair's relationship. "He works with me in spite of some of my personality flaws."

When pressed for additional details about those "flaws," Rockwell called Hammer, "a bit of a shark," and said Rhodes’ partnership with him is born of necessity, not choice.

"Don's character, Rhodey, needs to work with me. He has no choice,"
said Rockwell. "So we team up and we build this fabulous War Machine."

So does Rockwell get to try out this fabulous armor for himself? "I really wanted to, but Don wouldn't let me," Rockwell said.
