Ed Westwick and Gemma Arterton. The latest — and up till now, troubled — adaptation of Emily Bronte’s "Wuthering Heights" has picked up Bond girl Gemma Arterton and Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, the project will be directed by Peter Weber, perhaps best known for the Girl with the Pearl Earring.
About "Wuthering Heights"
"Wuthering Heights", published in 1847, is a tempestuous love story about obsessive passion across the class divide, set on the Yorkshire Moors. It has been adapted for film and TV more than a dozen times, most famously in 1939 with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. A 1992 version starred Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche.

This bit of casting means that the two leads will be roughly the same age as their characters—23 and 21, respectively...a relatively rare occurrence in Hollywood.

The project has gone through a number of casting changes over the past few years, with the likes of Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman and Abbie Cornish all at one time or another being attached.

These latest choices could undoubtedly prove a good choice. Arterton has proven herself a charming screen presence, in other period dramas no less, while Westwick is the best thing about the ridiculously addictive Gossip Girl.
