San Diego Comic-Con 2009 officially opened on Wednesday night.

The CinemaSpy team — all two of us Wednesday — took the opportunity to walk the exhibit hall during the preview event because we were informed it would be the least busy time.

If that was the lightest volume of the coming three days, I'm not sure there will be any room to move at all on Saturday.

Here are some of the highlights.

Hugh Jackman, as Wolverine, has been immortalized in wax. The figure will be installed in Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, but is on display at Comic-Con.
Visitors from the upcoming series remake of V were on hand in the guise of beautiful women, explaining how they plan to help our planet.
Less than ten feet from the vendor that sold trading cards, these kids were sorting through their new purchases and making trades.
Among some of the best costumes — and there were many — was this person dressed up as Luau Darth Vader.
President Barack Obama has inspired much more than hope, it seems.
Horror movie fans don virtual reality goggles and settle in for a montage of terrifying and iconic scenes from some of 20th Century Fox and MGM's most frightening horror films at the Feed Your Fear booth.
Bumblebee, star of Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen was one of the stars at the Hasbro booth.
Just down the aisle was this rendition of the loader vehicle from James Cameron's upcoming Avatar.
At the Weta booth were these steampunk inspired rayguns.
An MNU vehicle from the upcoming film 'District 9' is parked outside the Marriott hotel next door to the Convention Center.
